Overview

Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v was founded durring the early 14th century in winter of the year 1312, by Gig. The establishment of Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Gig struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v as a prison colony.

Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v was built using the conventions of Tauran durring the early 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v is no diffrent. The city's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v is buildings are arranged arrounded a highly ordered system of narrow worn bedrock streets which form triangular paterns, allowing the incides of the octagons to be common grounds for the buildings on the edges, be it for parkland, yardspace, plazas, or markets. The city rests behind the absurdity that is a thick, timber braced, wall made of clay bricks. While visualy impressive and certainly an astetic, Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v's wall provides no actual defence against siege equipment due to the choice of its cosntruction materials. Even nonexperts can tell the town is trying to impress rather than defend with its walls, towers, and gatehouses. Though admittedly, they do look nice... To primitive tribals who have never seen fortifications before. The city's political statment focused walls have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the city.

Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v’s streets.

Ftèan Ji̊ Qi̊v's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.
